Poster Collages
The three oldest put collages together, and I assisted Elizabeth. She got to pick which magazine pictures she wanted. We also used old 4x6 prints that I'd printed and didn't need.
Wildlife Safari
We enjoyed this for the most part, because most of the animals have either free reign in mass-acreage fenced-in pastures and woods, or at least a lot of space in smaller fenced-in areas. However, I cried (yes, in public) when I saw the chimps and other primates in small enclosures. Imprisoned. The one chimp who was awake—I've got video—was interacting with us so humanly. It made me sick that an innocent being was imprisoned like that. Therefore I am NOT posting anything of the primates. I do not even have pictures of them; just the video that proves he doesn't belong there.
We all loved the kangaroos. This one is a mother with a joey. See the Joey's legs sticking out of the pouch?
A Fun Time While Out Walking
Red-Pileated Woodpecker (Dryocopus pileatus)
My Love was so sweet and thoughtful! One morning, before I got up, he spotted this red-pileated woodpecker outside, through a window, and he fetched my camera and took pictures. :-) I was delighted.
Bedtime Songs
Sometimes for bedtime songs with the girls, we get on Youtube on my iPhone and play children's songs. This particular time I took selfies of us. :-)
Our Annual-or-So Hike Up Our Neighbors' Mountain
We've got permission to go onto two sets of neighbors' property, but we don't like to overdo it. The greened pasture land featured in the funny pics above of the kids is on the same neighbors' property as this below, and we trek through it often, as it's right by the road and butts up to our property (which is pictures in all the other above pics from the same day). This mountain here the kids and I only go up once or twice a year. Nathan hunts on our property, as well as this property and another couple's property. Since we only do this rarely, it makes it a very special treat!
My Sweet Tree-Huggers
William loved this pine tree and immediately went to hug it. I loved that he loved it and wanted a picture. So then all the kids wanted pictures hugging the tree. :-)
(Yes, I realize this child does not match! Hahahaha! She despises the pants that match it and wanted the sweat pants that day.)
Mushrooms on Our Wood (Say this like you're starting the song, "Riders on the Storm." Doesn't it have a good ring to it? "Mushrooms on our wood...ding, ding, ding, ding, ding..."
Probably everyone knows I love the moon by now. Ha! It may be simple alone, but it's absolutely mesmerizing and beautiful to me, all sunlit in a blue sky (or a "black" night sky), and the white-colored sycamore wood against the blue sky, with the moon in the background... It was just captivating. It was so much better than the picture reveals.
Until next time...
