Fun Times in September and October 2019

We enjoyed a lot of good times through the last few months of the year. The kids went to stay at my parents' for a short bit, and my mom shared these pictures:

Elizabeth's tarantula molted:

I read two new books to the kids, one that caused meditation on whether immortality is a good thing and another based on a true story of Jews in Ukraine hiding from the Nazis.

Despite my hate of plastic (and indeed, I lived to regret it and wished I'd ordered a wooden one), I bought Elizabeth a car racer after she became engrossed in playing with cars and started watching videos of cars and marbles racing down ramps.

Jade bought a car with his own saved cash:

This is how I found the kids upon emerging from my bedroom one morning, and I was happy to see them all enjoying each other's company.

We attended a family reunion in Carissa's family and enjoyed visiting.  Of course, the boys were to be found playing pool, and Olivia spent a great portion of her time with a baby.

We went to a local corn maze place with various other fun activities.  It was a real hit for the kids, but Jade didn't go with us.

This was the equivalent of Feast of Trumpets gift time.

I was proud of Olivia when I read what she'd written of Columbus:

Tarantula looks pretty big and healthy after molting:

Carissa got two rats, brothers:

The kids camped out in the living room and enjoyed their time hanging out:

As usual, I prepared pumpkins for pulp for pies:

Carissa and I went out for an anniversary date and stumbled upon a cool free trade chocolate place that sells a variety of chocolate desserts and uses biodegradable plastic for to-go containers and utensils:

We celebrated Olivia's tenth birthday.  She wanted to eat frozen treats at Braum's:

The following picture is of chicken and dressing, rather than a cake:

I still don't celebrate Halloween and possess no desire to, but the kids go trick or treating with their father's bunch, and Carissa participates.  She made up her face before taking the kids to drop them off and going to work:

Until next time...

July and August 2019 Happenings

I don't have much to post for July and August, but here follows some quick highlights.

Wonderful book!

We pulled this from our science shelves and enjoyed some fun.

We read this wonderful book, after my daddy recommended it and I spotted it in a used bookstore. It's a true story.

We swam a few times at Table Rock Lake.

The kids started back to public school again in early August.  Boy, do they look happy, or what?!

I constructed one of the mythological creature masks from a book of Elizabeth's for her to wear.

Olivia participated in some physical therapy sessions after being diagnosed with Ehlers-Danlos syndrome.
Elizabeth went through a spell of playing with her cars and animals on the brick.
Elizabeth tried sushi during a lesson at school.
Carissa is showing off one of the peppers she grew.  We enjoyed so many peppers with cheese!
This was the first book Elizabeth tested over (I think) during her second grade year.

That was a quick post!  But stay tuned, for there's much more to come.

Until next time....
